Are We Out Of Bread?

"Are we out of bread?" he asks with a hint of accusation, as if to imply that I should have procured more bread in anticipation of the empty bread bag. I am not the sliced bread eater here, he is. I like fresh from the oven bread. He likes to wait until my eyes close at night and violate my no eating in the bed rule with various peanut butter concoctions. He gets a smear of peanut butter on the pillow case, causing me to wonder where the pillow has been. He shamelessly blame the dogs .....

I am blessed (cursed?) with an extraordinary ability to smell. I don't have to put the pillow case to my nose to determine that the source of the odor is peanut butter. While I have to admit that Toni Louise has a more than normal love of peanut butter and her favorite thing in the world is an almost empty peanut butter jar ....... she is not allowed to eat in the bed.

But, back to the question of bread. I answered with, "I don't know .... are we out of bread?" "Did I make a sandwich and use the last pieces of bread?"

Just this week, I pointed out that there was some slaw in the refrigerator if the hot dog baron decided he wanted some while whipping up a quick weekend lunch. "Oh, that's no good. The last time I checked, it was expired."

Yeah. So he just left it in there. Every week, I assumed we had slaw. No need to buy more. We never have any left that expires. It was not on my radar, not being the slaw lover under this roof. I got it out to check the date. September 29. So all this time, he would glance at that tub of slaw and think, "No, I can't have that. It's expired." Not bothering to throw it out, or at least tell ME to throw it out and buy more.

No spare loaf in my freezer yesterday - guess who had to hope there was some left on the shelf at the supermarket .
I wasn't even the one who wanted a sandwich lol
Take care

My hubby-shopper thinks we need great quantities of every staple, so we are seldom out of anything, and often things expire before we use them.

Peanut butter is a STRONG odor! I love peanut butter - but not on anyone ELSE'S breath! LOL!

My husband always yells out when we are out of something - like I'm going to rush and write it down. Like, why can't he write it down? LOL!

Milk is the commodity like that around here. I can't drink milk but my husband uses about a half gallon a week. If he doesn't remind me when the supply is low, I can go to the store and neglect to buy milk. One must be reminded.

he has to go to the kitchen to get his peanut butter and yet he brings it to bed to eat? we try to keep a running list for the store. not everything that gets used up though gets on it in a timely fashion.
