First Impressions.....

I like to make a good first impression. I like for things to be neat and orderly. I work hard on my front gardens and my backyard gets what ever energy I have left. That's not to say it is neglected.... Just not as much care goes into it because it is contained in a privacy fence. I have two frog planters flanking the entrance to greet folks as they come to check in. Hanging baskets adorn the entire front of the building along with my humming bird feeders. Bees and butterflies are plentiful in my front gardens.......................

But, alas, love of my life does not share my vision. Three days ago he took the air conditioner apart to "fix" it. Isn't it lovely? The cans of WD-40 and silicone that grace the top have been deemed useless or empty. Yet....here they sit on top of the non-working air conditioner. This is how he chooses to greet the public. No wonder I need drugs. Three days. I have been trying to wait him out. It is not working. He came up awhile ago and installed another air unit. I would have thought he would have loaded the non working unit into his truck and at least remove it from the front of the building. No. He is mowing now. I can't leave right now but when my pool empties of swimmers and all my weekend guests have checked in I will be hauling the eyesore to another destination.............as I live and breathe.

I confess that I did go peek out the door just now to make sure that it was still there, you know, just in case he reads this.

Hilarious! Sometimes it is easier to "medicate" ourselves when we are living with people so opposite of us. Your description of "love of your life" reminds me alot of my ex.

I am impressed that he might read your blog. My hubby is very self centered. He has no interest in my blog. Kinda cracks me up. All my current thoughts are there in an organized manner!!!

I am just glad that you have another air conditioner!

The part that made me laugh out loud was dad reading your blog. As I live and breathe. Hee hee

Aww the frog planter is adorable. You know camping is not my cup of tea, but if I were ever to stay at a campground, I would come to yours. You take incredibly good care of it and the people, I am impressed. Now, I must admit, if Mr. Lovelyprism and I lived there it would be exactly the same way. He doesn't care at ALL about the aesthetics. I am constantly putting away things like that, or hauling them to the curb for the garbage man. He could do it himself, but does he? Of course not.

I have just had this battle with my husband. We are now in a very small place - he doesn't have his usual "study" and all of his stuff is all over the table! Despite the "bins" I have provided for this purpose. I told him he is making me anxious like his mother was with his father - they day after he died she had my husband clean out his desk and get rid of all the clutter. She said it had always made her anxious. :-)

My hubby leaves stuff out all the time and when I ask him why he does that, he says because he might use it again....really. Also, he thinks putting things in the garage is the equivalent of throwing them away. They are a strange breed! I don't think he's ever read my blog! That was funny!

Really, the only time he has ever "read" this is when I read it to him, you know, to make a point. I just read this one to him....... It will be fun to see what happens. I tried to pick it up, but it was way too heavy. I thought about taking an ax and hacking it to pieces to facilitate the removal........ as fun and therapeutic as that might be I have a lot of campers here for the weekend and THAT would make the wrong impression for sure.

I like the ax fantasy! Sounds like something I'd like to participate in myself.
