Well, it was only a half day, but I take what I can get. I spent the morning getting ready for my big adventure. A long shower (no one was doing laundry to pull away the hot water....yay!) and I even put on make-up (no need to scare people when you go to......WalMart!). I dressed in some new clothes that I inherited from a friend. I sashayed out to my vehicle and found that I even had fuel. It would seem that all the planets were in synch and all was right for a get away.
Off I went and spent a wonderful hour or so in the consignment shop........ you never know what treasures might await you. Then I got a free shampoo with my haircut. They weren't busy and she massaged my scalp, I was in heaven! The cut is good, but they always tend to weigh my hair down with lots of product. On to WalMart for the necessities of life and a quick stop at McDonald's for a tea for the drive home.
That's where it all went downhill. This was the sweetest tea I have ever had! I am from Georgia where all good cooks pride themselves on the sweetness of the tea and this went way beyond that! I had a raging sugar high, then a crash and now I am recovering from the headache! Lesson learned. I will not do that again. I will stick with water.

Being a southern bred girl myself, I also love slightly sweetened tea. I found McDonald's tea to be WAYYYY to sweet too...and also the tea you buy in the jug in grocery stores....ick!
It was still nice that you got away for a short time and that your haircut turned out well. Sometimes it is good just to get a change of scenery. Too bad about the headache. Glad I found out about that McDonalds tea. I wouldn't like it either.
Oh -being a Northeasterner born and bred I can never abide by "sweet tea".. it actually hurts my teeth! know that someone south of the Mason Dixon line would turn over in their grave knowing that we actually drink tea "straight"... no sweeteners whatsoever...
Don't you just hate how much product the hairdresser loads into your hair? I always feel like a $2.00 hooker leaving my salon... but the cut is great after a wash at home.
Glad you had a good 1/2 day off!
I do not even taste tea in that disgusting stuff. Just sugar water. I think the hummingbirds could drink it.
seemed like the day was good up until the tea part; I haven't had any McDonald's tea so can't comment on its taste....
but always a good day when you can get your hair styled :)
betty
Whenever I go to one of those places that offers sweet or not tea, I always ask for half and half. The straight sweet tea is like drinking syrup.
The lady that cuts my hair does the same. Then she uses a blow drier and fluffs it up and wants to know if I'm satisfied. Who can tell? I can't tell til the next day when I wash it and towel dry it.
So funny! I believe there is a fine line between sweet tea and a coma!
Didn't know you were a Georgia Peach! I drink me tea UNSWEET-you should see the looks I get!
I'm so disappointed in their tea.
Nice ladies day out - perfect.
