Anonimity

I have spent some time reflecting of late, due to the recent barrage of anonymous comments. I will confess that some of the comments have given me pause. No one likes to have their failings pointed out to them and I am no different.

Anyone who reads my blog should know that this is venue for venting frustrations and sharing what it is like to own a campground............all from my own unique point of view. If one should recognize their own behaviour, then perhaps it will give them a different perspective on their future behaviour. Criticism can be a useful tool. It is like seeing yourself through another set of eyes.

I have definitely considered those comments that wish me ill and I can only hope that was an empty threat on the part of the author. Maybe their way to vent. I have no intention of addressing the comments. After all this is my blog and I am free to write what I like. I do not intend to place a block on the anonymous comments and I won't delete them. As much as I appreciate my freedom to do so...... I started this project as an exercise in writing and I want to see the feedback. Good and bad.

I appreciate all the comments and support from my followers. I feel honored to have your support and your recent comments have defended me and my writing. I thank you.

Interesting about the anonymous comments...

I would guess that it is someone that you know personally that knows about your blog. To make a personal attack is very unusual.

Bad Karma to the ass!!!

I vote that you delete their comments. They need to go camping some where else.

You do have a site widget don't you that shows pretty much who they are?? If not, let me know.

Being a local customer of this campground for many years, I want to thank you folks for all your hard work. Thanks for creating a safe, family atmosphere where I can bring my daughters and granddaughter and her friends to spend a peaceful and enjoyable day. Thanks for keeping the pool and surrounding area clean and sanitary. Thanks for constantly picking up the trash that I know people throw everywhere but, we never see because you pick it up. Thank you for the rules: yes, the rules that keep cars going slow and sharp glass out of the pool area. Thanks for mowing ( a constant chore ). Thank you for taking time to plant flowers for us to enjoy. The sunflowers and marigolds are favorites of mine. And, thank for putting up with people that don't appreciate your efforts. Just remember that the majority of us do!

I respect your opinion about keeping the anonymous comments and not deleting them. that speaks volumes for the kind of person you are in that you try to act kind and treat others kindly, no matter if they aren't extending that consideration back to you

Kathy I too made a stand to keep publishing anonymous comments but one particular toerag kept leaving spiteful ill-educated messages and eventually I just decided to remove the control they thought they had over me. Yes feedback is useful but when it is spiteful it becomes very wearing and in time will get you down. They love hurting people by sticking the knife in. It is not criticism or feedback but bullying in its most cowardly form. I am sure you have a feedback-form within your business, and that should be good enough to find out where you might make reasonable changes. The truth of the matter is that the anonymous commentators who leave nasty comments are can be psychologically and pathologically unsound and that is someone, (usually of narcissistic personality), you don’t need to encourage. They love the fact that you are being even handed and printing their comments – that is exactly what they are banking on when they accuse you of being unfair and not giving them an open platform to spread their hate and jealousy. As a psychology major I am deeply aware of the problems these people have and I really would advise you to nip it in the bud now. I don’t mean to sound bossy but I have been where you are and in time you get sick to the back teeth of giving them a free hand to insult you. This is the only time you can have complete control of limiting the effects of their socially unacceptable behaviour and a great result is that it pisses them off big-time that they can’t get to you anymore. Remember they are trying to control you and that is where they get their jollies from – stop anonymous comments and you take control – they hate being played at their own game! Good luck, keep blogging, you are a treat to read.

Although the site is "Anonimity", I prefer to be up-front. As Kathy's older sister, I probably know her better than any anonymous blogger.

She is kind, loving, a good friend and sister. Just remember, dear sister, I only live 4 states away and I carry a big stick and taser, although I rarely have to use either.

Chin up, dear heart -- your big sister loves you!

HUMOR

You said no one likes having their flaws pointed out..Correct, but that humors me a great deal considering that is the exact reason your anonymous writer came about..to point that out to you. You have relentlessly talked about people you have spent no time with to know and you call it "relief".. that sure is a funny way of doing so. You have yet to "pause" or have any form of regret in the words you have spoken..until we found them to read. Now that your foolish and discreet implements have been found...you want to try to make nice, once again..that humors me. So maybe you should title this entry a much more suitable one: "Hypocrite". But above all your non-sense, it is your followers that catch my attention the most. They honestly believe that you have this much to say about a stranger you know nothing more about than the dollar they hand you, and they think you stop there!? I don't even know you and I could nearly guarantee that this is much too fulfilling and exciting for you to turn down.. but that is just my own unique perspective..(laughing out loud)

Your friend thinks because she has some degree and a large vacabulary she can convince me to stop writing or you to stop posting me. First, I will tell you..I have the ability to refrain myself from these sort of situations..I do so on a daily basis but when it is so diligently handed to me like so, I will defend the unskpoken. You can't take back the words you said of a mother's child, or the exaggerated tales of a newly wed's dog, or the "experienced" comment on someone's meth-habit teeth. Those, ma'am, are insults no matter how pretty you try to disguise them. And you use them for the entertainment of your family and friends? Not exactly the southern way of handling things dear...

Secondly, delete me. Be yourself, the coward who sits on her stool complaining of the job she chose and noveling to her computer click while she actually is wasting away her day. Fine by me, because today I vow to make it my last time to read your filth and to be a part of it.

Oh and last, i would like to thank Drew for the trash that's picked up, the yard that's mowed, the pool thats clean and the some-what welcoming we have felt, but I thank YOU for making it so easy to never come back.. For making my life seem that much more fullfilled. I don't own such a "venting" instrument nor the heart to need to say the things for relief. So delete me or keep me..whichever makes your day seem brighter..but I will think of you day to day when I am wiping my ass.

Seriously Kathy...you should encourage your anonymous commenter to post their own blog. They sure have a lot to say for someone who says they don't have much to say about it.

Wow, Anonymous. You called Kathy a hypocrite because she doesn't know the people she is writing about. Then you said that you don't know Kathy, yet you took the time to make your criticisms. Look up hypocrite, hypocrite.

Maybe you should sign your comments with the salutation "Dumb Ass".

From a managers' point of view; If you are the owner of any kind of business, you have the final say!

I have never known any kinder owner/operators than Kathy and Drew. If you ask for something within their power, they wil make every effort to get it for you.
