I DVR most every television program I want to watch of late.....just to avoid the commercials. I love to be able to zoom past them. My time to actually watch anything is limited, you know. Well I decided to check out a new show on USA in the wee hours of the morning when I couldn't sleep. I was inundated with an ad for the new eyelash growing drug that is being touted by Brooke Shields.
How vane are we? I do wear make-up and try to enhance the features I do have. Like my mother I was not blessed with long, thick eyelashes. Even if I had money for such, I doubt I would even want to try it. It must be a relatively new drug on the market. It has side effects....said so in the ad. I am sure that not all the side effects were mentioned. Irritation to the application site was one of them. That alone is enough to make me not want to try it. I have allergies that cause my eyes to be irritated and itch. What happens if you accidentally get this stuff IN your eye?
I don't like to take any prescription drugs, but I especially don't like to take newly released ones.
Makes me feel like a guinea pig. Have you noticed how many drugs come under question after being on the market for several years? Now, if I had some life threatening or debilitating disease I would no doubt have a different opinion as to a new course of drug therapy.......... but for eyelashes?

I spelled vain wrong....that's what i get fro trying to write while I work!!!!!
An RX for eyelashes?? Good God - what is this world coming to?
I barely wear makeup, much less want anything else to have to keep up with.
I don't even wear mascara anymore - just curl 'em and go. (It just smudges under my eyes. Maybe my cheeks are too close?)
There should be a tablet for vanity suppression! Honestly, what hogwash!
Oh yeah other side effects include changing the color of your eyes! Do you love it? I know exactly what you mean, the pharmaceutical companies are really out there anymore. I'm very hesitant to take any prescription drug.
I can almost see a benefit to this prescription. I have nearly non-existent eyelashes. Eyelashes are supposed to help keep things from getting in your eyes, so if there were a way for them to grow and help protect your eyes, then I could see the benefits. Medicinally speaking, of course. {grin}
Not sure the pain would be worth the gain. I have nice green eyes. Wonder what color they might change to???
I take enough prescription drugs as it is. I agree with you - a drug to make my eyelashes grow? I don't think so. :)
