Talk about a good sport....... Here is love of my life. They had a contest in the convenience store to raise money for breast cancer research. The one to gather the most in donations had to wear a bra for one whole shift.
I guess you know who won. I had to loop two rubber bands and use the extra length to hook it on him. He is apparently quite popular, this man of mine. The convenience store was quite busy with all the regulars coming in to gawk at him. I am just wondering what he did for all that money!!
Legend has it that he raised another $118 that night. I have to admit that he is kind of cute.
We are leaving on our journey tomorrow to take my son's ashes south. I am full of mixed emotions as I ready us to leave. Thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers that I have felt drifting towards me. Closure seems like a cold concept, like I will shut the door on his life. I like to think that as I shut this door I will enter a new relationship with him as I remember him.

He's quite fetching in those blue feathers.
Godspeed on your trip.
You two are amazing! I'm inspired.
What a great guy to put that on. I like it much better than a giving tree. :~)
And NOW we know WHY he is the love of your life! What a guy!! Safe rides and prayers on your journey.
That is great that he raised money like that!
I wish you well on your trip.
I must say - blue is his color! What a great guy for doing that for a great cause.
Have a safe journey my friend. I will be thinking of you on your journey. You will ALWAYS have your son's memories close to your heart.
Wonderful picture. Did you take it?
It doesn't seem fair that the person who gathered the MOST donations had to wear the bra; however, it sounds like he was a good sport about it.
Safe travels.
What a fun guy. And personally I think it is an excellent choice of colors. Orange and blue. My fighting Illini team colors. Of course I don't think a man in a bra should show up at a game.
Blue becomes him, but pink would have pulled him right on into character!
Congrats on his win!

That is too funny!
You can't go wrong with blue feathers!
Be safe on your trip.
Sunny :)
Oh, Kathy,
Please don't forget you will see him again. I often talk to my mama and know that she is right here, listening. Your son will always be with you.
Be safe and know you are loved.

I think that is a wonderful and wise sentiment - you are closing the door on this stage of his life and opening a door for a new relationship with him. And yes, you will be reunited one day - both of you whole and healthy!! God Speed.
Way to go hubby! LOL
Have a safe journey, friend. Stop and enjoy the beauty in the mountains for a moment.. ((hugs))

Only a real man would wear a feathered bikini top. I'm impressed - and for such a worthy cause!
Regarding your trip: Kathy, please know all your blog friends will be with you in spirit. As will your son. He knows you love him and he appreciates this bittersweet effort you're making for him. Indeed you will enter a new relationship with him... but the best one is still to come. He'll be waiting for you.
Much love. XO

Congrats to your hubby for a job well done! Women everywhere are cheering him.
Bless you, and your task. Godspeed.
hehe Drew looks SO CUTE! :)
Not sure what he did to get the extra coinage, but I don't see a bunch of beads around his neck.
;-)
Remember, I am with you in thought as you go through this time.
Ya' know, each time I come back to your site and see that gorgeous picture of love of your life, I think that I really must get one of those fetching garments.
Have a safe trip, Kathy. Keep in mind that we are all traveling with you and lending our love.

What a great sport! And, that is truly his color! I'm glad that he was obviously such a good sport about it. I can't see that I'd be as comfortable in something that's traditionally a "man" item - like, say a jock strap. Nope - can't see that happening...
But - great for "love of your life" for doing that! Kudos to him.
Drew should have been a girl, isn't he cute...
