Humidity, Humility

My iris are starting to bloom, as well as the tiger lilies. The day lilies have gone nuts with yellow everywhere.

I can't wait to see this lily bloom, it will have NINE blooms! I have the stem propped already.

Two years ago these maple trees were just twigs. I can't believe how big they are now. Look at that precious shade.

The humidity has been nasty. My youngest daughter used to call it humility. Kind of fits, if you think about it. Sweat is humbling. Hard to be too full of yourself with sweat trickling from every pore of your body.

Yes, summer is here. We've had quite a bit of rain, which I think is steaming things up even more.

Looks so pretty there. We have that same humidity. I don't like it one bit. It drains all my energy.

Headed our way at week's end. The lilies are in bud but haven't popped.
Someone asked me where summer is. I said we still have July, August, September, enjoy the seventies!

Oh, humidity is terrible and I know that it is bad elsewhere. We have very high temperatures here in the summer (100+), but it's a dry heat--last week was around 14 percent most days. Anything over 25 percent, and we are melting.

I prefer outdoor humidity to that which comes with 25 adolescent bodies in a climate-controlled classroom at the end of August.
