They are on their way home and there is a huge void in my house. Even my dogs are subdued. Oscar and Emmy are no doubt relieved that the big, goofy Rocky has left the building, but Wall-E is sad and hasn't moved from the chair that Gavin left him in. Gramma isn't much better than the little white dog. Papa is mowing........... go figure.
Rocky was ready to hit the road and once in the car, did not want to get out, even though they weren't quite ready to leave. He liked playing with Wall-E, but Oscar was having none of that on his watch and would quickly put a stop to it .........
Car seats and quilts ............ creature comforts for dog and child........
"I can do it myself, Mom!"
My girl is so pretty, even if the picture is a little fuzzy. Hard to focus through sunglasses to hide the tears ........
Rocky takes one last walk with Papa ............
Gavin and Papa share a private talk .........
then Papa gets a bear hug.
Kiley invites Gavin down to meet her parents, so he takes one last bike ride .....
and catches up with her.
Then he wants one last golf cart ride. Rocky decides to go, too. Must be afraid he will have to stay here with those annoying little dogs ......
Good thing I got a cart with extra seats!
This what the park looked like yesterday! The sky opened and we got flooding rain. It cooled things off just a little, but I am glad they didn't leave in a storm like this!
Right before the storm the sky darkened and I couldn't see very far. Really gloomy........... and that is how I feel today.

Oh, I know you hate to see them go. I'd be the same way if I only got to see mine a couple of times a year.
Wow that was some bad rain!!! You can send some of the extra water our way. It's been way too dry around here..

Leaving my grandparents house to come home every summer was awful, too! Here's hoping they're back before you know it!

I can feel the sadness in your words. It is awfully hard having them go home. I know when mine leave it is a mixture of relief and emptiness. Sending a big hug your way.

The sadness is palpable. By the time I got to the part about your sun glasses I was teary eyed too.

Oh, I can feel your sadness. As lovely as the visits from our grownup kids are, it is always so hard the first couple of days after they leave. sigh..
I always feel the same way after I visit my parents, or after they visit me. I'm sure your daughter felt the same. Still, I'm glad they got to visit.
So hard to see your daughter and grandson go. My heart goes out to you. I hate saying goodbye to my kids when we hit the road. I talk to them quit often, and we "SKYPE" my daughter to see our granddaughter, but it's not the same as holding her and giving her kisses.
That was quite a rainstorm!
