Tents and Mulch

As autumn approaches and school starts I find myself with lots of time to garden to my hearts content. The pool isn't busy and when I get too hot I can slide into the cool water and float lazily on my back ...... well, for about 10 minutes or so. Takes about that long to see something that needs attention.

He who loves to haul things and run errands procured for she who mulches a trailer full of dark brown mulch yesterday and I started with my largest bed. I was optimistic and thought I would knock it out in no time. He who really hates all things involving manual labor offered to help............ knowing I would decline. His idea of mulching is to grab a shovel and sling the mulch mindlessly into the bed with no regard to where it lands as long as it is within the borders of the flower bed. I prefer to tuck it gently around my flowers and the requisite frogs that adorn all my beds. Looks nicer and I don't knock my plants around and kill them. This requires lots of bending and hauling small buckets and even though my muscles were screaming last night, I continued mulching this morning and didn't stop until I used every last tiny little handful of the stuff. I topped that off with a porch cleaning marathon ............... had to rid the porch of the cat yak I discovered and all the dead bugs. While cleaning was quite satisfying, the hour in the pool made me feel like a new person.

Tent camping has come a long way, don't you think? This one looks like a cottage. I think I could sleep in a tent. As long as it had a bed that I didn't have to fall to my knees to get into ..... and a fan ................. and a bathroom. I really like a bathroom ........... and not one I have to walk through the dark park to get to.

I like this tent, though.

That tent is way cool, but I still like all of those things you mentioned an awful lot!

I might consider camping if we had that tent...well, maybe. Have a good weekend and give those muscles a little break!

I love that tent. Nothing like the old green canvas one I used to camp in with my parents when I was a kid.
Camping gear has really changed over the years.

I like that tent. I am lamenting that I will probably never go camping again, but I do like that tent.

A whole hour in the pool just for yourself. How heavenly!

I have never seen a tent like that before! How cool! When we camp we tent camp. I would prefer to sleep in a camper myself but my hubby says camping is not camping unless you are sleeping in a tent.

This summer seems to have gone by quickly and mostly uneventfully for you. either that or I've had my head up my...ah, never mind.

I wish it was cool enough here to work outside but not for another month probably.

And that is a very cool tent.

Very cool tent, but I'm with you on the bathroom thing. A very necessary thing for someone our age - and not down the block.

When we camp we look like the Beverly Hillbillies...we definitely take our air mattress! I agree about the bathroom thing though. That's why we haven't gone camping for the last few years. The last time I was 6 months pregnant and had to get up 8 times to pee during the night-in the rain. That was enough to last me for awhile!

I'm happy to hear that you are actually getting to enjoy your space!

nice tent - but i'm with you... i prefer electricity, a real bed, running water, and flushing toilets (without taking a long walk).

but i still like the tent.

We used to tent...about 25 years ago, younger and more agile, these days I do not think I could do it. We have a 32 foot prowler with queen bed, slide out, bunks, a/c, the works.....I love it and could not imagine camping any other way at this point in my life! I do like that tent and I always admire tents and it makes me reminisce to my younger days. LOL.
