Plans for the Upcoming Season

A new season for the campground will be here before I can blink. It is time to start planning for next year and as much as I would like to put it off....... well, I that is not going to happen. The physical work won't begin until the bitter cold wind dies down a bit.

Best friend ever, Deb came out and spent her weekend building a new web site for me! One look and everyone who knows me and my computer savvy will know that I didn't do it! Go check it out at www.kandokampground.com . We (and when I say we, I mean Deb) will be updating the events monthly. Please take a look and let me know what you think.

We have an itinerary for the season all ready to go beginning April 24th with a welcome back potluck supper to enjoy after a day of site clean up getting ready for a long summer. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the weather will cooperate with our plans! May will be a Mother's Day breakfast and In June we will have a fishing derby in honor of Father's Day. This year for the 4th of July we will have a parade of golf carts, ATVs, bicycles, and you can even join in on foot with your pet! After this we will gather for a BBQ and pot luck side dish before the awesome fireworks display. August will be a pot luck and Bingo for those gamblers among us while the braver ones will present a display of Karaoke talent (me, me, I love a micro-phone!!!). Labor day weekend will bring my church crowd back and we will have a fish fry, too. And last, but not least we will have our annual Octoberfeast celebrating all things scary and ghoulish.

I am getting excited again as I write this. I will be so happy to see all my seasonal campers after the hibernation of winter.... not to mention all those bulbs I planted. Any of you that are traveling my way, be sure to stop in and see us! I am thinking everyone should camp at least once in their lives...... might as well camp here....

Your kampground is incredibly reasonable. Besides simply wanting to me you :) I think a trip your way next summer might be in order. I have never been in your part of the world and it looks beautiful.

All your ideas sound so exciting - I was telling Pooldad how hard you both work and how nice you keep the kampground [I especially love all your flowers, nice!]

Wait, wait! I'm still trying to finish up last year's stuff. Or I suppose I could just start thinking of it as this year's stuff. That's nice, having a campground where you have permanent (more or less) residents. Kinda like a little village.

Nice Website. I especially liked all the pictures on the Rules page...some of them looked a bit familiar :-)

On one of my trips to Columbia I'll be stopping by. Just don't know when.

Wow. Lots and lots of plans! The website looks great, BTW. Very inviting. If I lived closer, I'd come there to camp.

Looks like you've been busy on these cold winter days planning for the next season! The website looks great - very professional looking with all the different tabs - cool pictures, too!

First of all - love the new website. Very fresh and crisp. Deb outdid herself. It's an effort you can both be proud of!

I love your itinerary of events. You got me excited too! All your doings sound like so much fun. You really put your heart and soul into your kampground, and it's quite apparent. No wonder your regulars love you so much.

My friends Jim Atherton and Jim Kelly of RVing With Jim And Garret (http://jimandgarret.blogspot.com/) just stopped in Jacksonville on their way to North Carolina where Jim just got a new job in Charlotte. They came in their motor coach and we met up for dinner at La Nopalera Mexican Restaurant. It's so cool how they move around the country in that thing. What an interesting culture of people. Kind of like hermit crabs that just carry their homes around with them. I personally have never had an RVing experience, but I think it would be like luxury camping. All the conveniences of home with an ever changing view!

I've been so busy with the holidays and some blog issues, I haven't been around visiting very much. I've missed you girl! Trying to get caught up! Hope you had a lovely Christmas.

I'd love to pay your campground a visit. Ron doesn't do tents though and we don't have a camper. Got a cabin??? LOL - we could come visit and enjoy the comforts of home in a nice little cabin. hehehehe!

Glad that you're getting some excitement going. It will be a great season.

Very nice website. It looks like you have a wonderful place to camp. Even with all the endless work it must be nice getting to know so many new people. It seems like a long way off on the calendar but April will be here before you know it. Have fun doing all your planning.

We went camping a lot when I was in high school and I loved it. Haven't been in quite a while.

You commented on my blog about your seedlings and installing a light for them. Have you written about that here? I would love to hear about that!

Happy New Year to you and yours.
Blessings!

Kathy - what a fantastic new site! Awesome job.

I also just wanted to say, thanks for dropping in today and thanks for your very thoughtful and heartfelt reply - I had tears in my eyes reading about your own experience. Those little girls are lucky to have you for a grandmother and I bet you make them smile every day that they get to spend with you. You always make me smile with your writing and I can only imagine you are as wonderful as your blog portrays.

Wow! I consider myself organized if I can plan one meal ahead. What a trooper you are to plan ahead for a whole year.

I don't s'pose you'll be in my neck of the woods long enough to get me on some kind of a schedule, will you? Stay as long as it takes... er, as long as you want. heheh

Happy New Year, my friend!

Your website looks great, very inviting. I camped for years with my parents when I was a youngster, it would be fun to do it again.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, KATHY!!

Nice website! Your webmaster deserves a big pat on the back for a job well done! I see we passed your campground (or close by) on our Missouri trip last summer, when we went to visit my ancestors in Sedalia and then scooted over to Illinois via Highway 70. Your activities sound like so much fun... you're making me wish I owned a campground (I'd better re-read your post about planting all those bulbs!)
