Maya is six years old today. It doesn't seem that long ago that my son called me excitedly to tell me they were on their way to the airport to fly to Texas and meet their baby. We all waited for that first picture with great anticipation.
Now she is a big girl, in Kindergarten! She has been visited by the tooth fairy and sports a lovely toothless smile in the photo above. I will be traveling to Minnesota in February to see her and her sisters....... but my heart is there today, on this sweet girls birthday.
Missing milestones is hard, but it makes the time I do get with them even more precious. Happy Birthday to Maya!

She is gorgeous! Much love and happy birthday to Maya!
What a pretty girl. She looks beautiful in that pink! Ok, if this is too nosy, don't answer, but how many kids and grandkids do you have? I was reading back over the last couple posts and saw you mention all those names on that post about Christmas and then all these lovely little ones photos are here often...I can't keep up but what a lot of blessings they are! Such a cute story about painting on the cast. You have good friends!
I know exactly how hard it is to miss a grandbaby's big days...Maya is a sweetie and I love that casual stance and the pretty in pink smile!
hugs

Happy birthday beautiful wee girl. When you see her in Feb, that means two celebrations for her birthday! Lucky girl!
I missed it by one day! Happy Birthday Maya! What a pretty little girl!:)
Yes! Happy happy birthday to beautiful Maya. I just love this age. Kids are so curious and inquisitive and sweet and love to learn.
You got a good one, Kathy!
too cute. Happy Birthday little one!
she is an absolute beauty! I bet you can't wait to give her a hug and kiss. It is hard being so far away from grandkids. I will get to see my new granddaughter later this month and I can hardly wait. Of course, I can't wait to see Alexander, too but I haven't hugged or kissed the new one yet. I'm overdue!
Oh how CUTE!!!! Now I know why you so enjoy heading north! Even in winter! :)
It was great speaking with you today! You and Deb be sure to go to High Hill to Tom and Nina's open house! It is for everyone, so don't be shy! They throw open the doors of their queen anne victorian and start the Christmas season off right with friends old and new!! Tell them hi for me! :)
Yes, happy birthday Maya.
